### Key Points

Horizontal Impaction

A wisdom tooth lying sideways and hidden, which can push against or damage adjacent teeth.

Angular Impaction

Hidden at a slanted angle, so food gets trapped and cavities and inflammation easily develop.

Vertical Impaction

Standing upright but covered by the gum, so only part of it is visible.

Precautions After Extraction

- Bite firmly on the gauze for 2-3 hours, and swallow or wipe away pooled saliva and blood
- Even after bleeding stops, please refrain from using a straw
- Please avoid bathing, exercise, drinking, and smoking
- Do not touch the extraction site with your tongue or irritate it with rough food
- Please take your medication as prescribed
