In-house Dental Lab
MEGAPLANT Dental Clinic Seodaemun is equipped with the CEREC Primemill chairside milling unit on site, with the aim of carrying the flow from diagnosis through to prosthesis fabrication within a single space.
Why fabricate in-house?
Prostheses are usually fabricated at an outside dental laboratory and then delivered to the clinic. In this process it is difficult for the dental team and the technician to meet face to face and fine-tune shape or shade, and the treatment period grows longer by the length of the delivery time.
With an in-house dental lab, intraoral scan data can be passed straight to design and milling. It is easier to check and adjust shade and shape together with you, and depending on the case, treatment can be planned for completion over a short period without a temporary prosthesis. Not every prosthesis can be finished on the same day; the time required varies with the material and the case.

CEREC Primemill
This is a chairside milling unit from Dentsply Sirona. It supports both wet and dry machining, and is designed so that milling in the zirconia Super Fast mode is possible in approximately 5 minutes. Tools are managed by RFID and the unit is operated through a 7-inch touch screen. These figures are based on the specifications published by the manufacturer; actual milling time varies with the material and the shape.

What changes for you
When the shade of a prosthesis is subtly off or the bite feels awkward, outside fabrication means sending it back and waiting. With an in-house dental lab, the dental team can check it on the spot and decide how to adjust it, which makes communication simpler. The treatment period and number of visits differ from case to case, and we explain the expected schedule in advance at your consultation.
Fabrication flow
Instead of impression material, a scanner records the shape of the teeth digitally.
The shape, thickness and occlusion of the prosthesis are designed on top of the scan data.
The material block is milled with the CEREC Primemill.
After shade adjustment and polishing, it is tried in and fitted in the mouth.
