Dentin
The yellowish hard tissue that forms the main body of the tooth, located inside the enamel.
It is softer than enamel and connects to the nerve of the pulp through fine tubules (dentinal tubules), so when exposed it causes sensitivity. It largely determines the color of the tooth.
