The hardest tissue in the human body, covering the outermost layer of the tooth.

About 96% of it consists of minerals (hydroxyapatite), making it extremely hard, but once damaged it cannot regenerate on its own. It is vulnerable to acid and can be dissolved by cavities or acid erosion, so protection is important.
