Root Canal Treatment

A treatment that removes infected or damaged pulp (nerve tissue) and then disinfects and fills the root canal.

When decay is deep and inflammation spreads to the pulp, pain becomes severe. The infected pulp is removed, the root canal is thoroughly disinfected, and it is then sealed with a filling material. After treatment, a crown is often placed to protect the weakened tooth.
