Inlay
A partial restoration that is made separately from an impression and then fitted into the tooth.
It is used for large cavity areas that are too big to fill with resin. A restoration precisely fabricated in the lab from an impression is bonded in place, offering advantages over direct fillings in terms of wear resistance and strength. Materials such as ceramic and gold are used.
