Sinus Lift

A surgical technique that lifts the floor of the maxillary sinus in the upper molar region to secure bone space for placing an implant.

In the upper molar region, the maxillary sinus (an air-filled space) lies above, so bone height is often insufficient. The sinus membrane is carefully lifted and bone graft material is packed beneath it to create the bone volume required for implant placement. Depending on the remaining bone height, a lateral approach or a crestal approach is used.
