Temporomandibular Disorder

A disorder of the temporomandibular joint and muscles that causes pain or sounds when moving the jaw.

Symptoms such as pain when opening the mouth or chewing, clicking sounds, and limited mouth opening appear. It is caused by stress, teeth grinding, malocclusion, etc., and is managed with a splint (occlusal stabilization device), medication, and lifestyle correction.
